Local chef competes on Iron Chef program

MINNEAPOLIS -- Another Minnesota match-up was on TV Sunday night besides the Vikings NFC Championship game.

Sameh Wadi, chef and owner of Saffron Restaurant & Lounge in Minneapolis, went up again Iron Chef Morimoto but unfortunately fell a little short.

The secret ingredient Sunday night was mackerel.  It had to be prepared in five dishes.

A viewing party was hosted at restaurant Max to watch the episode on the Food Network.

Wadi looked good but could not pull out a win against Morimoto.

He is the first Minnesotan to go head to head against an Iron Chef on the program.
