as saffron slowly comes back to life, i want to invite you into something deeply rooted.
on june 26th and 27th, beyti returns with “baladi,” an intimate dinner exploring the food and wines of palestine and the greater levant through the lens of land, memory, and hospitality.
“baladi” is one of those arabic words that doesn’t translate perfectly. depending on context, it can mean “my homeland,” “of the land,” or something deeply local, native, rustic, and familiar. food that belongs to a place. food that carries history inside of it.
this dinner is inspired by the idea that what grows together, goes together.
throughout the evening, we’ll explore levantine wines with a focus on palestine, sourced from one of the oldest and most ancient wine-growing regions in the world. alongside them will be a menu inspired by the landscapes, villages, coastlines, cities, and traditions that have shaped palestinian cuisine across generations.
some dishes may trace back hundreds, even thousands, of years. others are rooted in memory.
all of them are connected by the spirit of sharing, gathering, and abundance that defines the table i grew up around.
this is not meant to be a quiet tasting menu.
it is meant to feel alive.
plates passed across the table. hands reaching for bread. conversations between strangers. wine poured generously. stories exchanged between courses. the kind of meal where hospitality becomes the language everyone understands.
the dinner will take place in the private dining room of our new saffron space, formerly the back bar at young joni. one seating only each night, with all guests seated together family-style at communal tables.
some menu highlights include:
tickets are $225 per guest plus tax (service is included). we have very limited seating available, so book your tickets now.
free parking is available adjacent to the building. use the alley and follow the red light for entrance to the space.
beyti translates to “my home.” this is how i would cook for you at mine.
